Midwest League Managers

Rick Albert

One partial Midwest League season:

Playing Career

  • Drafted/Signed: Braves, apparently a free agent, 1972 (?).
  • Professional Career: Six minor league seasons in the Atlanta organization; mostly at Double-A Savannah
  • Midwest League: Never played in the Midwest League.

Management style

Albert's had two managing careers; they basically interrupted what has been an extremely long career as a coach in the Braves system. He was generally conservative in both stints; in the second stint he stopped letting his pitchers complete games, and called for bunts far less frequently.
