Rob Derksen

Two Midwest League seasons:

• Manager, Beloit [Brewers] (1990-91)

Playing Career

• Drafted/Signed: Brewers, 1982, 16th round (Pitcher, University of Wisconsin)
• Professional Career: Three minor league seasons in the Brewers organization, plus brief appearances (apparently while coaching) in 1987 & 1989.
• Midwest League: Played for Beloit in 1982 and (evidently as a coach) in 1989.

Management style

Derksen's teams ran wild on the bases, and bunted a lot. His handling of pitchers was fairly conventional, and he was not particularly prone to call for an intentional pass.

Derksen coached the Australian Olympic baseball team in 1996, and the Greek team in 2000. He was recruiting the 2004 Greek team when he passed away.
