Professional Career: Ten minor league seasons, usually at the Triple-A level. Mahlberg appeared in 8 games with the Texas Rangers.

Midwest League: Never played in the Midwest League.

Management style

Mahlberg was a fairly conventional manager. When he was young, including his MWL stint, his teams were very aggressive on the basepaths and he was unusually likely to let his pitchers complete games.
