Manager

This is Gary Thurman's second season as a minor league skipper; last year he was quite successful in the Arizona League. He seems to call a fairly conventional game.

Where they played last season

This is a brief portrait of how the team was put together. These summaries are based on the team's opening day roster and will not be revised to reflect roster changes.

The Rattlers are essentially last summer's Everett AquaSox, leavened a bit from the other farm teams. That seems a decent base.

Team League W/L Place Hitters Pitchers
                               (Teams)
Lancaster California (A+) 55/85 10(10) 2 1
Wisconsin Midwest (A) 72/66 5T(14) 2 3
Everett Northwest (A-) 41/35 3(8) 12 9
Mariners Arizona (R) 32/24 2(8) 3 2

There was some movement in the Seattle system last summer, so several players are counted more than once in this table. Three of the new Rattlers had brief appearances in Triple-A last season.
