Where they played last season

This is a brief portrait of how the team was put together. These summaries are based on the team's opening day roster and will not be revised to reflect roster changes.

The Caps are based on last summer's Oneonta nine, which was a decent team; most of the remaining players are from the Tigers' Rookie team.

Team League W/L Place Hitters Pitchers
                                       (Teams)
Lakeland Florida State (A+) 65/73 10(14) 0 2
West Michigan Midwest (A) 68/72 10(14) 1 1
Oneonta New York-Penn (A-) 41/34 5(14) 7 9
Tigers Gulf Coast (R) 29/31 8T(14) 4 4

There was some slight movement in the Tigers organization in 1999; a few players are counted twice in this table. Two of the new Whitecaps played in other organizations last season, while a third did not play professionally. None of these players appeared above Class A in 1999.
